CHIEF Idris Oladiran has officially opened and handed over the Dawha centre, a multipurpose centre for Islamic activities at Erio in Ekiti State. The centre which was the first of its kind in the community had in attendance eminent personalities, including traditional rulers and Islamic clerics who witnessed its official commissioning.
Speaking at the handover, Oladiran disclosed that the gesture which is dedicated to his late parent will further enhance the teaching and learning of Islamic education.
He added, “this is one of the several ways through which we can propagate Islam in our community and I am confident that the centre will be properly used for the purposes it is meant for.
Assuring the Muslim community of his continuous support , the Balogun of Erio, Oladiran also pledged not to relent in his commitment towards ensuring steady growth and development of the community.
Also, the Chief Imam of Erio, Sheik Musa Badmus, in his brief remarks, described the donation as a timely gesture saying it is acceptable to Almighty Allah.
“ This is highly commendable coming at a time when the need to teach the young children and adults about Islam and the need to further promote it as a religion of peace.
He, thereafter prayed for the repose of the souls which the centre was dedicated to and increased blessings for the donor and his entire family.
In a related development, the Elerio of Erio, Oba Johnson Bamigbade Okiji III who led other traditional rulers to the event congratulated muslim community in Erio, urging them to make good use of the centre especially in promoting peace and harmony.
