In the heart of Ogbomoso, joy echoed through the air as Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde orchestrated a historic moment, empowering the town with a new Soun by presenting both the staff of the office and the instrument to Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye.
Speaking at the Ogbomoso township stadium on Tuesday, Governor Makinde emphasised that these presentations were executed within his gubernatorial authority.
Stressing their significance, the governor declared that the act officially confirmed Oba Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso.
“In the exercise of power, I hereby confirm Oba Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso land.
“I will hand over the instrument to the office, and I will also hand over the staff of the office,” the governor stated.
The sun cast a warm glow on the proceedings, symbolising the dawn of a new era for Ogbomoso.
