The O’First Group, a socio-political and cultural organisation comprising dedicated Ogbomoso natives, has offered heartfelt condolences to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) community.
This sorrowful message comes in the wake of a tragic incident on Wednesday.
In a grievous accident that occurred in the Ilobu area of Osun state, two students from the university’s accounting department and a driver lost their lives. They were returning from a self-organised excursion when the accident took place.
In a statement signed by the group’s President, Sir Olusegun Adekunle, the O’First Group also extended its sympathies to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, and Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, the Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, who is the father of one of the deceased students.
The group also stands in solidarity with the families of all the victims affected by this unfortunate incident.
The statement emphasises the painful and untimely loss of these young individuals who were on a quest for knowledge.
It reads, “The tragic loss of these young souls in their pursuit of knowledge is deeply painful and unfortunate. We share this moment of grief with their parents, relatives, and all stakeholders, praying that God will grant them the strength to endure this profound loss.”
The O’First Group further offered prayers for the departed souls, beseeching God’s infinite mercy to grant them eternal rest.
