Odebunmi makes case for Ogbomoso communities ravaged by storm

A member of the  House of Representatives, Hon. Segun Odebunmi  has assured residents of Gambari, Iresaadu, Iresaapa, Iware,  Balogun and Maami communities in Ogbomoso of federal government’s support in rebuilding their properties earlier lost to rainstorm.

A rainstorm had last week Friday destroyed about 300 houses in these communities,  leaving one dead and many injured.

Odebunmi, who represents Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency disclosed this in his message when  officials of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA were conducted round the community.

The  lawmaker informed that the visit was to ascertain the level of damages so as to know where to come in as soon as possible. The All Progressives Congress (APC)  chieftain who is also the Chairman House of Reps Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values had on Saturday footed the hospital bills of some of the injured persons and supported others  with cash pending the time when succour will come from the federal government.

NEMA Zonal Coordinator,  Lugard Bijimi who led other officials to the community said the agency will bring some relief materials to the community In line with NEMA intervention and palliative rules .

Lugard lauded the lawmaker for his prompt intervention and informing them about the development. “Your representative at the National Assembly, Hon Odebunmi informed us about this and he told us that he want quick response on this and we will do just as he said because the Representative of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency is a man who has the interest of his constituents at heart at all times”.

Also commenting, the Secretary, Oyo State Emergency Management Agency (OYSEMA),  Alhaji Lukman Aransi assured that the state will do something to assist the affected people .
