No room for corruption, indiscipline, Oyo Lg boss warns.

THE newly inaugurated Caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area , Mr Olamijuwonlo Alao- Akala on Monday said  his administration has  zero tolerance for indiscipline, dishonesty and corruption, promising to tackle these societal ills.

The son of a former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao- Akala, Olamijuwonlo who was accompanied by hundreds of his political associates and father’s loyalists to the council secretariat made this known while resuming office.

In his address, the Council Chief reiterated that his administration would not tolerate indiscipline or compromise on anything, emphasizing his determination to arrest decline in education, fight corruption as well as maintain clean environment for healthy living of the people among others as his prime concern.

“ Let me make it abundantly clear that our administration support the ongoing anti corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari administration and I am also of the opinion that we will kill corruption before it kills us, We will run an administration that has zero tolerance for corruption dishonesty, indiscipline and impunity. For us to get the desired result we must jettison the old and fraudulent ways of doing things for the sake of our state and Local Government”.

“I encourage every member of staff of this local government to be loyal, law abiding, disciplined and  any corrupt practices as  anyone culpable will face the full wrath of  the law”, he charged.

Olamijuwonlo continued, “in this period where our great country is battling  and recovery from recession, that has so much battered our economy, it will be in our  collective interest to put  on our thinking cap, plug loopholes and  leakages, embark on internally generated drive  and run all inclusive government where private partners will be  strategic partners  in progress and development”.

” I urge each and every one of you to support this administration and render diligent service with unflinching loyalty in order to deliver  good governance and dividends of democracy  to the good people of Ogbomoso north local government”.

Vowing to come up with a robust approach to new environmental sanitization policy, Mr Akala stressed, “ we must ensure public facilities and  infrastructure are cleaned on daily basis and well maintained, public toilets, road roundabout ,walkways, drainage  channels, markets and offices must be kept clean at all times”.

Earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration in the council, Engineer Isaac Ajibola congratulates the chairman on his appointment, just as he urged him to emulate his father who was also a former chairman of the council.

Engr. Ajibola said, “Chief Akala, during his tenure as a local government chairman was generous and committed to the growth of the local government; he ran an all inclusive government and ensures harmonious relationship between member of his cabinet and staffs of the local government”.

Some of his father’s political associates assured that Mr Akala will  perform  beyond expectations.
