Nine died in Yobe road crashes

At least nine lives have been lost in separate road accidents in Yobe State.

The state’s Public Enlightenment Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) , Usaini Ibrahim, confirmed this on Thursday.

Ibrahim explained that the first accident involved a Toyota hummer bus with registration number BAM 286XA.

It was learnt that the vehicle, belonging to the Borno State Transport Authority was conveying passengers from Jos to Maiduguri.

Three of the passengers died while others sustained different degrees of injury.

While the second accident, involved a Toyota bus with registration number KJA 012 XA heading to Potiskum. Six persons died on the spot.

Both accidents, as gathered happened on Wednesday and the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital Potiskum.

Over speeding and reckless driving have been identified as the causes of road crashes
