Nigeria suffering poor leadership, bad governance – Asanike, senatorial aspirant

Oyo South senatorial hopeful, Kola Asatola Asanike, on Tuesday, said Nigeria is suffering two major ills – bad governance and poor leadership.

He noted that bad governance and the poor leadership of the political class that has failed the masses are at the heart of his desire to contest the Senatorial seat to effect the needed change.

Featuring on a private radio station in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, the APC chieftain, also identified the mismanagement of resources as one of the problems for the backwardness of people in Nigeria.

Asanike promised to bridge the wide gap between the rich and the poor; if given the mandate.

“Our people are facing challenges in all areas of life, particularly in the area of economic development.

“The mismanagement of their resources has taken the people backward, making the constituents one of the poorest, in terms of poverty and despondency.

“The people suffer the scourge of mass illiteracy, avoidable deaths occasioned by a poor health delivery system, visionless leadership, and poor governance

“The time has come for old and tired politicians to embrace new political views and policies that will be people-oriented that will be championed by youths”, he said.

The senatorial hopeful continued, “My aspiration is about a new vision, leadership style, and people-oriented projects. Fortunately, this is what the people are craving.

“I have the necessary required qualifications, background, and experience to win credible elections. It is about new energy and likeability deeply rooted in general acceptability.”
