New Aare Ona Kakanfo, Gani Adams sighted in Oyo as traditional rites begin today

Aare Ona Kakanfo designate, Otunba Gani Adams was sighted in Oyo town, Oyo state this evening ahead of the Saturday’s coronation of  Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, as he resumed for the commencement  of the traditional rites.

Adams, who arrived Oyo town around 5pm was jointly led to the sacred place by Bishop Ayo Ladigbolu and Akogun Segun Taiwo, the Chairman and Secretary of the organizing committee

Addressing newsmen who ambushed him in Oyo, the National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC said he was fully prepared  for the task.

According to Adams, “there is nothing to worry about. This is not the first time I will be performing traditional rites, its part of our  culture and anybody aspiring to hold position of authority in Yorubaland must perform it.

”I won’t miss anything while at the seclusion, I will have more knowlegde , understanding and related history about my new position”, he added.

Remarking, while receiving Gani Adams in his residence, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Bishop Ayo Ladigbolu noted that the rites are necessary because its part of the steps to be taken for the official coronation. Ladigbolu further disclosed that they are fully prepared for the official coronation on Saturday.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo, as learnt is not expected to see Alaafin until Saturday when the traditional rites must have been concluded.
