The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has formally notified the Head of Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, about allegations of sexual harassment against the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ibrahim Lamuwa.
In a letter dated May 27, Minister Tuggar highlighted the seriousness of the accusations and emphasized the need for urgent and thorough investigation.
The complaint, brought forward by a married female employee of the ministry through her legal representative, Femi Falana, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), detailed alleged sexual advances made by Lamuwa.
Tuggar’s letter stated: “I am compelled to write to inform you of a formal complaint against the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ibrahim Adamu Lamuwa, on allegations of sexual harassment.”
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, Minister Tuggar attached the complaint received via email and assured the Head of Service of his full cooperation in the investigative process.
