Mesut Ozil to sign new Arsenal contract extension because of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s arrival

MESUT OZIL will sign a new Arsenal deal because of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s expected arrival, according to reports.

Respected German newspaper Bild say the Gunners midfielder will put pen to paper after the World Cup.

Ozil, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and it appeared either he or Alexis Sanchez would leave the club.

The Chile forward moved to Manchester United on wages of £505,000 a week.

That leaves Ozil primed to sign a new deal with Dortmund star Aubameyang alongside him in the ranks once he completes his £55million deal.

Arsenal appeared to leak confirmation of Aubameyang’s transfer on their own website last night.

Bild say Ozil is expected to earn around £300,000 a week on his new deal.

The former Real Madrid star had been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this transfer window.

And they play up the notion it will be the second time the World Cup winner says ‘yes’ this summer as he is also set to marry girlfriend Amine Gulse.

Ozil and Gulse, a former Miss Turkey 2014, last year went public with their relationship and frequently post photos of themselves together on Instagram.

Arsenal fans had been expecting good news regarding Ozil’s future after he put his ‘M10’ logo on one of the walls in his London home.

And they will hope for more following last night’s dismal 3-1 away defeat to relegation scrappers Swansea.
