Arsenal have completed the signing of French youngster Matteo Guendouzi.
The Gunners wrapped up their fourth deal of the summer on Tuesday with the acquisition of Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira.
And while it hasn’t been announced by the club just yet, Guendouzi, 19, has put pen to paper on a five year deal, reports Football.London.
Video footage of Guendouzi signing his deal has emerged, with the 19-year-old sitting next to Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and contract negotiator Huss Fahmy.
It was Mislintat who identified Guendouzi as a possible target, but according to reports in France it was head coach Unai Emery who persuaded the youngster to leave his homeland and move to the Emirates.
His arrival follows on from the capture of Torreira, whose £26.5 million switch was finalised on Tuesday.
On completing his move to the Emirates, Torreira said: “I’ve been receiving loads of messages in my social media accounts. I guess it’s all down to the fact there were talks of me moving to Arsenal even before the World Cup started.
“I am very happy and I hope I can meet all the fans very soon. I want to make the most of this opportunity life has given me. I am really looking forward to starting this new adventure.”
The signing ends a transfer saga that has dragged on since before the World Cup and Emery is delighted to have finally got the 22-year-old to sign on the dotted line.
