A yet-to-be-identified man has reportedly jumped into the lagoon in Lagos State.
The tragic incident, as gathered, took place on Tuesday with the man said to have jumped from the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.
“Depression is real tbh Someone just jumped into the Ikoyi link bridge water right in front of me, not quite long. Hope he will not be lifeless before the rescue team arrives”, one of the eyewitnesses, Temitope, tweeted.

Explaining, the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, as well as the Head of Public Education of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Amodu Shakiru, said they received the report of the incident.
“Our men are there, controlling the crowd as other rescue teams arrive”, said Hundeyin
Also, Shakiru, added that his office got a distress call at about 2:43 pm and immediately moved to the location of the incident with a view to rescuing the man.
