Makinde promises to accord priority to Oyo traditional institution

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde says the traditional institution is pivotal and indispensable in the task of rebuilding the state and putting it on a pedestal of socio- economic development.

Governor Makinde stated this at Ilaji Farms and Resort during the 56th Birthday celebration of the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao yesterday.

He said the traditional institution will be accorded due respect and recognition under the new administration in the state.

The governor, whose message was delivered by a former House of Representatives members, Hon Babatunde Oduyoye congratulated the Olugbon of Orile Igbon on his birthday and prayed God to grant the royal father sound health and longevity to enable him contribute to the development of his domain.

Governor Makinde who appreciated the committee of friends of Olugbon, particularly the proprietor of Ilaji Resort for the birthday bash, assured that his administration will take care of the road leading to the resort for further development

The immediate past governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi also described the celebrant as a traditional ruler who has good plans for the transformation and expansion of his kingdom

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Soliu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso felicitated with the Olugbon and prayed for a peaceful and eventful years.

Other traditional rulers who graced the ceremony which include the Aseyin of Iseyin land, Abdulganiyu Salaudeen the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola and the Onpetu of Ijeru, Oba Sunday Lagbemi Osekun described the celebrant as a bridge builder.

Appreciating guests who graced the occasion, the celebrant said his birthday has provided another opportunity for him to count his blessings and glorify God.

The highlight of the event  was the cutting of the birthday cake by the Olugbon flanked by his wife, Olori Olusola Alao and other eminent personalities.
