IBADAN based legal practitioner, Barrister Bolaji Agoro has filed a suit to recover his professional fees from a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Hon. Sunday Adeyemi Adepoju popularly known as ‘Omoyin’ at the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan.
According to the information scooped from thenigerialawyer.com on Tuesday, the Suit filed on 27th November, 2018, the Claimant is praying the court for the payment of the sum of N19,500,000:00 (Nineteen Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira) Only being his unpaid professional fees for legal services rendered to the Defendant, Hon. Adepoju in Suit No. EPT/IB/NA/HR/2015 wherein judgment was delivered on 10th August, 2015 and Appeal No. CA/EPT/IB/8/2015 wherein judgment was delivered on 8th October, 2015 respectively.
thenigerialawyer.com further reports that the claim filed by the Claimant’s Counsel, the claimant is also praying the court to award10% interest on the judgment debt until final liquidation by the Defendant.
The lawyer contended that Hon Adepoju who is seeking to return to the House of Representatives for the third time under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been avoiding him and refused to pay his fees after series of demand notices as well as bill of charges duly served on the Honourable.
