Kevin De Bruyne’s performances this season have got everybody talking.
The Manchester City star has been in sensational form and is a major part of the reason why Pep Guardiola’s side currently top the table unbeaten.
And with six goals and nine assists the Belgium midfielder has established himself as an early contender for player of the season.
But things could have turned out very differently for De Bruyne had he signed for the Premier League club he dreamed of playing for when he was a child, according to an old interview which has resurfaced.
In the footage, a fresh-faced De Bruyne, who was playing for Gent at the time, reveals his favourite side was Liverpool.
“My favourite team is Liverpool,” said a little De Bruyne. “My favourite player is Michael Owen and I would like to play there.”
