The Kano State Government has declared a mid-term holiday for all primary and post-primary schools across the state in observance of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
According to an official statement issued by the state Ministry of Education, the break will commence on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, with schools expected to resume academic activities on Sunday, 15 June 2025.
The directive applies to both day and boarding schools. The ministry further advised parents and guardians of boarding students to make necessary arrangements to pick up their children in the early hours of 4 June.
The statement clarified that the mid-term holiday was in line with the approved 2024/2025 academic calendar, which remains unaffected by the festive break. The ministry reaffirmed that all academic and holiday schedules will be strictly followed.
Commissioner for Education, Malam Ali Makoda, called on parents to ensure their wards return to school promptly after the holiday.
“We also urge parents and guardians to ensure their children comply with the official resumption date for a smooth continuation of the academic term,” Makoda said.
He extended warm wishes to both students and staff, stating, “We wish our students and pupils a peaceful and successful Sallah break.”
