JUST IN: Senate confirms Sunday Dare, others

The Senate on Thursday screened and confirmed Oyo State nominee, Dr Sunday Dare, Tayo Alasoadura, Mustapha Shehuri, Abubakar Aliyu, and Bashir Magashi as ministers.

Their screening was in continuation of the exercise which began Wednesday with the appearance of 10 others nominees in the red chambers.

Dare is presently an Executive Commissioner, Stakeholders Management, Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), He was also the Convener, Social Media Clinic and Member and Consultant to the Washington-based Centre for Public Integrity.

Alasoadura, a former federal lawmaker is from Ondo State. Shehuri from Borno is the immediate past Minister of State of Works, Power and Housing, and a former member of the House of Representatives.

Aliyu was deputy governor of Yobe State between 2009 and 2019.

Magashi from Kano State is a former ECOMOG field commander.

The Senate unanimously waved some of its rules on the screening of Alasoadura and Shehuri who were once in the National Assembly.
