JUST IN: Makinde seeks collaboration with Oyo Assembly to tackle corruption

Governor Seyi Makinde has reiterated his administration’s readiness to partner and work harmoniously with the Oyo State House of Assembly to establish an Anti – graft agency to curb any corrupt practices in the state.

The governor stated this at the induction programme organized for members of the 9th Oyo Assembly held at IITA Conference Centre Idi-Ose, Ibadan.

The 32 members of the Oyo State House of Assembly gathered at the conference centre of IITA for the induction programme to usher in the 9th Assembly.

Makinde noted that  the effective collaboration between the  Executive and legislature will put the state on its pace setting status.

He, also hinted that the government will soon send its first Executive bill to the State House of Assembly seeking for the establishment of Anti-graft agency to ensure check and balance as well as to curb any corrupt practices in the state

Governor Seyi Makinde further solicited the support of  all members in achieving his lofty programmes aimed at taking the state to an enviable height.

He told the lawmakers elect that the present administration will intensify effort at ensuring financial Autonomy for the Oyo State Assembly.

Some of the members in an interview with our reporter expressed their readiness to work harmoniously with the governor to achieve its lofty objectives.

The induction programme was part of the activities lined for the 32 newly elected members to know the task before them.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Chief of Staff to the state Governor, Chief Bisi Ilaka were in attendance.
