Engr. Adedeji Doherty has been sworn-in as the new Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.
Doherty was sworn into office by the party’s National Vice Chairman Southwest, Eddy Olafeso.
This is coming after the party chairman, Moshood Salvador ditched the PDP and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2019 Governorship election.
Doherty had contested for the party’s governorship ticket in 2015 and 2019 respectively, but lost to Jimi Agbaje.
It would be recalled that the PDP in Lagos State has been entangled in series of crisis before and after the 2019 elections which took the party several months to resolve.
