The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has congratulated his colleague, Hon. Akin Alabi, on his installation as the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Alabi, who chairs the House Committee on Works, represents Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

In a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, Oseni, who chairs the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), described the conferment as a major milestone in Alabi’s journey through the revered Olubadan chieftaincy hierarchy.

He said the title reflects Alabi’s unwavering commitment to cultural heritage and his notable contributions to the development of Ibadanland.

“I heartily congratulate my brother and friend, Hon. Akin Alabi, on this well-deserved honour. The title of Jagun Olubadan is more than a traditional recognition—it symbolizes leadership, integrity, and service to the people. His installation is a proud moment for Ibadan and a significant step in his chieftaincy journey,” Oseni said.

The lawmaker also commended the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, for sustaining the customs and values of the Ibadan traditional institution, describing it as a model of order and prestige in Yorubaland.

He urged the newly installed Jagun Olubadan to continue to serve with humility and use the new status to promote unity, preserve Yoruba culture, and support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people.
