The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, and all officers of the service would undergo a drug test.
NIS Public Relations Officer, Sunday James, made this known in a statement on Saturday.
Babandede made the announcement at the third Conversion/Upgrading Course at the Premier Immigration Training School in Kano State, north-west Nigeria.
The immigration boss informed that the exercise, which would commence with him as the first to be tested, was aimed at ensuring that personnel discharge their duties professionally.
He added that the need for personnel of the service to be cautious as they carry arms in line of duty, giving assurance that those who test positive at first would not be dismissed.
