Investigation Update: Autopsy On Mohbad Concluded, Result Awaited – Police

In a significant update on the investigation into the untimely death of renowned singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command has revealed that the autopsy on the singer’s remains has been completed, and the results are currently pending.

This crucial disclosure came directly from the Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who shared this information on his X social media account, formerly Twitter, on Thursday evening.

“Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting result…,” the police spokesperson wrote.

The announcement followed closely on the heels of a revelation by the police spokesperson that Mohbad’s remains were exhumed from his final resting place in the Gberigbe area of Ikorodu for the purpose of conducting the autopsy.

The singer’s passing, which occurred under mysterious circumstances just last week, has ignited a wave of public outrage and calls for justice from concerned Nigerians.

In response to the mounting controversy, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun issued a direct and urgent directive to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, instructing the initiation of a swift and comprehensive investigation into the tragic incident.

Quoting the IGP, spokesman of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Muyiwa Adejobi, conveyed the seriousness of the directive, stating that it aims to uncover the truth surrounding the untimely demise of the beloved singer.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, responding to the public outcry earlier this week, extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to join in the ongoing probe into Mohbad’s passing.

This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both state and federal authorities to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic loss of the talented artist, Mohbad.
