Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, his Ondo State counterpart, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, former Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, an elder statesman Pa Ayo Adebanjo, an historian, Prof Bamiji Akintoye among others paid condolence visit to the leader of Afenifere over the demise of his daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin.
The Governor who sympathised with the family of Pa Fasoranti also called on government at all levels to be more proactive in tackling the security challenges in the country.
According to Governor Makinde it is high time the southwest governors to re strategize towards ensuring the safety of the region.
He called for robust synergy between the police and other security agencies so as to strengthen the security of the region.
In their separate reactions, Some leaders of Afenifere including, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Mr Yinka Odumakin in their separate reactions said the security situation of the country especially Southwest region deserves urgent attention.
They called for true federalism so as to enable the governors to control the security apparatus of their respective states.
