The Commissioner representing Oyo state at the Federal Character Commission, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, on Friday, finally put to rest permutations that he was one of those nursing federal house of representatives ambition in 2023.
Olowofela said his reaction became necessary because of prompting from well meaning supporters from his constituency and across the entire Oyo state.
He was the House of Representatives nominee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the 2019 election.
The former Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, who announced this through his verified Facebook page , also thanked his supporters and admirers for their support and prayers during the 2019 election.
“I will like to use this medium to appreciate my innumerable Supporters in Ido local Government, Ibarapa East local Government and the entire 33 Local Governments in Oyo-State for your support and prayers during the 2019 Election.
“I want to seize this moment to inform you all that I will not be contesting for any political position in the 2023 election.
“This information becomes imperative because of prompting from well meaning supporters from my Constituency and across the entire Oyo-State in General.
“I pray that God keep us alive till and beyond 2023, to exercise our constitutional responsibilities for our preferred Candidates. I pray that we choose right and our elected Political Office holders are alive to their civic responsibilities”, he posted.
The ex-Ido Local Government council chief , however promised to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidates .
“I will do everything humanly possible to support any candidate chosen by my Party”, Olowofela added.
