Subsequent to the release of the Six kidnapped students of Igbonla Model School, Epe, Lagos state, the Southwest governors have been urged to strengthen security against criminal activities in the zone.
Hon Temitope Olatoye, popularly addressed as Sugar, representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Abuja gave this advise while reacting to the release of the Six kidnapped Igbonla College Students in Ondo state.
Congratulating the parents of the students and Lagos state government, he noted that there is no better time to strengthen security in the zone than now.
The federal lawmaker maintained that security collaboration with the region is essential for adequate response to criminal activities within the region.
According to him, such security measure would have reduced the number of days these students spent in captivity of the kidnappers.
Commending the intervention of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and other federal and state security agencies as well as Nigerians for their efforts toward the release of the students, the lawmaker, however called for Southwest security summit where issues about the security of the zone shall be discussed extensively.
