The Mogaji Olugbade Family Oja’ba Ibadan, Chief Dotun Sanusi on Thursday hailed the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for approving the proposal of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun to make some Baales in Ibadan crown-wearing monarchs.

This is as the concerned Baales, their families and communities across the new royal domains sent invitations across well-wishers to join in the celebration which holds tomorrow.

The Kabiyesi, Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Balogun, the paramount ruler and prescribed authority is set to perform the coronation of the Baales into crown-wearing monarchs tomorrow at the historic Oja’ba Palace of the Olubadan, beginning from 10am.

This ceremony is the second of such historic event in Ibadan, coming weeks after the Olubadan crowned his high chiefs to crown-wearing Obas in the Olubadan-in-Council otherwise known as Olubadan Advisory Council or Ibadan Obas Council.

With this development, Olubadan is the Imperial Majesty of the Ibadan land while his hitherto High Chiefs are now His Royal Majesties and Baales as His Royal Highnesses.

He, thereafter, called for more support and cooperation for the Governor and his administration, stressing that, “the Omituntun 2.0 is already a blessing to the people of the State and more importantly, our chequered traditional institution.”

He added that the Association of Ibadan Mogajis under its President, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori; market men and women and all their leaders including all stakeholders are happy with the new development which according to him, “will further fast track greater development and accentuate economic growth of the city of Ibadan.”

Among the Baales to be elevated to Obas are the Alakanran of Akanran, Chief Yekini Obisesan; Alararo of Araromi Aperin, Chief Mudashir Obisesan; Oniladuntan of Laduntan, Chief Kamorudeen Adeyemi; and about 22 others spread across Ibadan city and less cities.
