Ibadan based business magnate cries to Police over threats to life from Omo Onile

A poultry farmer and owner of Avian Specialties Nig Limited in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Mr. Gbenga James has cried out to the Oyo State Government and relevant security agencies in the state, over perceived threats to his life and properties by some unscrupulous elements popularly known as ‘Omo Onile’ (land grabbers).

Containtained in a petition forwarded to the state commissioner of police and made available to Mega Icon Magazine , Mr. Gbenga James sought for security agents’ intervention over threat to his life.

He narrated that several attempts have been made on his life by some groups who claimed to be Omo Onile, led by one Mr. Olayiwola Sulu a.k.a Salala. He further hinted that these unscrupulous persons said that they have obtained a court order to execute action which investigation had proven to be false.

James recalled that sometimes in 2014, this same set of people came to attack him and they were arrested and detained at Orita Police Station because the Police was able to seize some dangerous weapon they brought to the site, to attack him.

He added, “Olayiwola Sulu made a confessional statement at Orita Police Station promising not to come to the site again, because he was the one that sold the land to me and collected Millions of naira from me.

“It came as a surprise when I received a distress call that this same set of people came again to the site with dangerous weapons last week. I had no option than to let members of the public know that my life is now at risk because these people have
totally broken down my company and farm and I’m now living in fear.

“These people even threating to waste my life and also destroy all the houses and pen which I have built on the land. The cost of the machinery stolen and destroyed at my farm is over 400Milion Naira while the masterminder, of the action is Mr. Olayiwola Sulu.

“I want to appeal to all relevant security agencies in the state that my life is now at risk because this same set of people have started there dangerous plans again.Since Governor Ajimobi has signed the new real property protection bill 2016 into law, I believe that this will assist in cocktailing the activities of land grabbers but it’s unfortunate that Mr. Olayiwola Sulu has turn himself to be a mini god.

“As a law abiding citizen, I wants to appeal to all relevant security agencies to come to my aid”, James appealed.
