FORMER Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Oyo State, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide has restated that she remains a loyal and committed member of the party in the State and will not for any reason shirk from her unflagging zeal geared towards building a PDP that is viable and strong in Oyo State, the South West and at the National level.
While reiterating her abiding commitment to the party which was also contained in a release signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Isiaka Kehinde and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Akinjide debunked, ” in view of the on-going defection of Senator Rashidi Ladoja and others from the PDP to ADC, I wish to state categorically that I remain a staunch member of the PDP. While I acknowledge Senator Ladoja’s inalienable and constitutional right to move to any party of his choice, and deeply regret that he could not find accommodation in our great party, PDP, I remain, a loyal and committed member of the PDP and will work assiduously towards the party’s success in the forthcoming general elections”.
Akinjide also stated that given the present situation of the party in Oyo state, all hands must now be on deck to strengthen the PDP and uphold the values of internal discipline in order for the party to realize it’s full potential and record a roaring victory in the forthcoming general elections.
