Gunmen Kill Ekiti Lawmaker, Abduct Commissioner

Hon. Olatunji Omotosho, a councillor and leader of the House in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti state is dead.

Omotoso who was representing  Iye Ward 1 at  Ilejemeje Local Government legislative arm was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen on the Iludun- Isan road of Ekiti state on Sunday.

The state Commissioner for  Agriculture, Chief Olabode Folorunso  and a yet to be identified woman were also abducted. The trio, as learnt were attacked on Sunday evening on their way to Isan, Governor Kayode Fayemi’s hometown.

 It was gathered that the victims were traveling in a Toyota Camry car when they were attacked by unknown gunmen suspected to be herders.

However, as at the time of filling the report,  the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Sunday Abutu  said he has not been briefed on the matter.
