President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, as the Board Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
In a related development, the APC National Secretary, Senator Bashiru Ajibola, has been named the Board Chairman of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced these appointments in a statement on Friday, alongside several others for key federal organisations.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed board chairpersons for 42 federal organisations and a secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services,” the statement read.
The appointments include Sulaiman Argungu, a former deputy governor of Kebbi State, as Chairman of the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company, and Magnus Abe, a former senator representing Rivers South-East, as Chairman of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall.
The President also named a new Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
Bayo Onanuga noted that President Tinubu urged the newly appointed board chairpersons to respect the boundaries of their roles, emphasizing that their positions are non-executive.
“These appointments underscore the President’s commitment to ensuring competent leadership across federal agencies to drive the Renewed Hope agenda,” the statement added.
