Gabriel Jesus reveals where he first start to play football

GABRIEL JESUS has sensationally revealed how he used to play football in a PRISON as he grew up in Brazil.

The Manchester City striker has spoken of how he woke up at 5am, just to be able to develop his skills as an up-and-coming prospect.

Speaking to Four Four Two, the 20-year-old told of his incredible story as he had to resort to playing in a penitentiary.

He said: “The pitch was inside Romao Gomes prison but it belonged to the police and it wasn’t far from the bad guys.

“Only the policemen used to play there. I’ve never felt afraid of anything there.

“Well, I used to get there very early in the morning. Several times I left home around 5 or 6am.”

Jesus has also spoken of how his mother acts as a second boss to Pep Guardiola, and is one of his harshest critics.

He added: “The thing she complains most is about offside.

“‘Come on Gabriel, look, don’t be offside… and do shoot on target!'”

The forward often pays tribute to the role his mother has played in his career, and in honour of her, has a huge portrait of her face on his arm.

Jesus has taken to life in England seamlessly since signing from Brazilian club Palmeiras.

He has netted nine times in 16 games in all competitions this season – seven in the Premier League – as he shown no signs of slowing down at the Etihad.

His fine form has led to him on the verge of signing a £100,000-a-week contract with the Citizens.

And it’s not just on club duty where he thrives, having netted his seventh international goal for the Canarinho in just his 12th cap in the recent 3-1 win over Japan.
