Flydubai has signed an order worth $27 billion to purchase 225 737 Max aircraft to support the growth of its fleet .
It is the third aircraft deal to be signed by the carrier since it was launched eight years ago after its 2008 and 2013 deals. The new deal will contribute to the development needs of the carrier and its continued expansion in various regional and international markets within a geographical area of 2.5 billion people.
The carrier is currently operating a fleet of 61 Boeing 737-800s of the new generation and Max, as well as 70 aircraft expected to be delivered by 2023.
“Today’s order confirms the success of Flydubai’s vision and Dubai’s role as a global hub for aviation that links East to West,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, President of Fly Dubai. “In less than a decade, the airline has expanded its route to 97 destinations in 44 countries around the world and we look forward to new aircraft coming to 2019 to support our future ambitions” .
With more than 100 flydubai fleet joining by 2023. The new deal will raise the airline’s total order to 320 aircraft.
