In a bid to alleviate food shortage concerns across the nation, the Federal Government has taken decisive action by distributing 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This initiative was announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following Monday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Minister Idris highlighted that this distribution marks the initial phase of the government’s strategy to tackle food scarcity.
Addressing the nation, Minister Idris called upon state governors to ensure the efficient and equitable distribution of these essential grains to the most vulnerable segments of society.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to providing immediate relief to communities grappling with food insecurity nationwide.
As the distribution process unfolds, all eyes remain on the effective implementation and impact of these measures in addressing the pressing issue of food shortage in Nigeria.
