Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso, Dr Taofeeq Abdul-Hameed will on Monday deliver the 10th valedictory lecture of ZOE College, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The lecture is part of activities lined up for the official commissioning of the college’s annex building.
The event will be delivered at the ZOE College Irewolede Estate annex, off Iresa road, Ogbomoso by 10 am.
Federal Polytechnic Ayede is one of the six polytechnics established by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration on February 2, 2021.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday by the institution’s Corporate Communications Committee, Dr Abdul-Hameed’s lecture is titled, ‘Polytechnic Education; Means to Aggressive National Development”.
The Iwo-born Rector – a COREN registered engineer is a seasoned administrator and an academician of national and international repute; an epitome of celebrated achievements whose contributions to the educational development of Nigeria and beyond can not be written off.
As a cerebral and highly respected scholar of no mean stature, Abdul-Hameed is also a member of various professional bodies which include: Fellow, Institute of Policy Management Development (FiPMD), Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Productivity and Quality Management (FCPQM), Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE), as well as Member, Nigerian Institution of Engineering Management (MNIEM) among others.
To his credit, the rector has since, not only successfully published various academic/scholarly papers in learned journals but also published textbooks, presented papers, delivered public lectures at different fora and platforms, attended workshops and mentored several others. His ilk constitutes great blessings to the black race.
Expected at the lecture and official commissioning of the College’s Irewolede Estate Annex are academic giants, professionals from all walks of life, politicians, clerics, traditional rulers, government officials, past and present students of the celebrator, associates and relations.
