Face your Atiku presidential campaign funds problem – Oyo APC tells Makinde

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo state has asked the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Mr. Seyi Makinde, to focus on his personal travails and account for the Atiku presidential campaign funds as directed by parties which he wants to form a coalition with, rather than focus on the APC coalition which is a family affair.

The party stated that it is surprised that the PDP candidate is more concerned about the APC coalition which is a settled issue than his own merger, noting that a serious man doesn’t leave his personal problems to focus on the perceived challenges of his neighbor.

The APC in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde said that the antics of Seyi Makinde to buy himself to power will fail as the electorates in the state are sophisticated enough to determine what is good and bad for them, stating the emotional appeal of Mr. Makinde is just a way of blackmailing people to get himself to power.

Dr Olatunde further warned the PDP that the vote buying it perpetrated in the last election  won’t be allowed, adding that “we are in charge of our affairs, don’t be concerned about our issue at the detriment of your impending failure at the polls, give your partners the breakdown of monies given to you as demanded. Don’t use us to cover up your issues and financial impropriety.

He stated that the voting buying mechanism of the PDP to return to power at all cost failed with the declaration of President Buhari as the winner of the February 23 election, explaining that the people’s faith in the administration of PMB and PYO will start manifesting in due course.

The APC spokesman stated that the PDP pushed the country to the brim of losing her identity in the comity of nations with their corrupt practices and maladministration, adding that President Buhari led APC government has started restoring the lost glory of the country.

Dr Olatunde said, “in a sane society, PDP should not be seen contesting any election in this political dispensation considering the level of decadence they put the country. The party destroyed all sectors of governance and celebrated corruption and maladministration as way of life.

“No wonder, one of the close associates of the PDP candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Makinde was heard boasting of how they intend to buy themselves to power. The Aide boasted that some traditional rulers, Ibadan elders, community, religious and youth leaders among others in the state on Makinde’s payroll and they will influence the election in his favor.

“It is so good that Makinde has displayed his level of intelligence during the governorship debates and people know how he fared. We urge Oyo State people to be wary of his antics of vote buying, voters’ inducement and rigging,” Dr Olatunde added.
