Extend holy living beyond ramadan, Oyo ALGON urges Muslims

The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON),Oyo State chapter has urged Moslem Ummah to carry on with the principles and teachings of the holy month of Ramadan which are perseverance, sacrifice, love, peace, kindness, compassion and peaceful co-existence.

The association,on Saturday, in a statement from its chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye in Ibadan and made available to Mega Icon Magazine,  congratulated the Moslem for the successful completion of the Ramadan.

“It is only when the principles of the season are sustained beyond Ramadan that the fasting period can be given its true meaning”.

“During Ramadan, which is one of the important pillars of Islam,we were obliged to fast,shun evil actions,speak right and show love to one another”

“Above all,we should not draw back in our devotion to Allah,which is the ultimate of our faith”,the chairman added.

Aleshinloye urged Muslims in the country to use the period of the Eid El Fitri to reflect on their spiritual life as individuals and how they can contribute more meaningfully towards the unity and progress of Nigeria.

He also urged Nigerians most especially people at the grassroots level to be conscious of their health by strictly adhering to instructions issued by health professionals and government at all levels, saying the outbreak of Corona virus is a cause for concern in the country.

“The prescription of physical distancing, use of face mask when going out, regular washing of hands with alcohol based sanitizer and covering our mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing should be strictly adhered to”

Praying that Allah accepts all our supplications, sacrifices and other good deeds during the month of Ramadan as an act of ibadah. Most importantly, he prayed to the Almighty Allah to take away the scourage of coronavirus soonest. Aleshinloye wishes moslem communities a happy Eid El Fitri celebration.
