FRONTLINE promoter of the Unity Forum’ – a splinter group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Professor Adeolu Akande on Sunday disclosed that he left the dissident group when its members necessitated the decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC); a party he described as an appendage of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Professor Akande, who restated his commitment and unflinching support to President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid, also hinted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had earlier sealed and resolved to mobilise votes for the PDP Presidential candidate, which runs contrary to his interest, sources told Mega Icon Magazine.
According to sources close to the Chairman of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Akande, who spoke with our reporter in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, ” we held talks with the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the purposes of election in Oyo state due to the unresolved internal crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
“Many cases in the court cannot be disposed of before the completion of nomination of candidates by various political parties. As far as the Presidential election is concerned, Adeolu Akande is committed to Buhari/Osinbajo project.
” In fact, Akande belongs to several strategic committees working on President Buhari reelection project “, the sources continued.
