Exclusive: Olaniyan becomes pioneer VC of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo

Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, a renowned economist, has been appointed as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, in Oyo state, Mega Icon Magazine exclusively gathered

Olaniyan, before his recent appointment, was, a Professor in the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan.

The Eruwa -born varsity Don, has over 23 years of research, consulting and tertiary teaching experience in Health and Population Economics, Economics of Education, Poverty and Welfare Analysis as well as Social Protection. He gained useful experience in social policy work in developing countries, through which he was able to interact and work with senior-level technocrats and officials.

Professor Olaniyan teaches Economics of Human Resources, Macroeconomics, Health Economics, Development Economics and Project Analysis and Evaluation in the Department. His research areas include Population Economics and Intergenerational Transfers, Economics of Education, Health Economics, Poverty and Welfare Analysis, and Sustainable Development.

Olanrewaju is also a member of the Academic Steering Committee of the Global Master in Development Practice Association based in Columbia University, New York, USA. He has presented keynote addresses and attended conferences/seminars in 48 countries around the world, including Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, North, and South America. He has also consulted for many organizations, including the World Bank, World Health Organization, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), among others. Furthermore, he has over 138 publications to his credit.
