A former member who represented Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller, on Thursday, paid a condolence visit to Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief  Sunday Adeyemo, better known as  ‘Sunday Igboho’, in Cotonou, Benin Republic over his mother’s demise.

It would be recalled that Sunday Igboho’s mother, Mama Sikirat Adeyemo, passed away on Saturday 22 July 2023.

The former Oyo lawmaker had during the visit described Mama’s passage as a painful, disheartening, and monumental loss.

“Mama’s death was very painful. I urge my brother to take solace in the fact that Mama lived a purposeful and fulfilled life.

“She left good legacies behind one of which is Sunday Igboho himself,” said Peller, in a condolence message on his Facebook page.

Peller enjoined Igboho to remain strong and also prayed that Mama’s shortcomings be forgiven by God almighty and however grant here her eternal rest.

He prayed that God gives Igboho, his siblings, and other family members the fortitude to bear the loss, particularly at this point in time.

Mama’s remains, as learnt, ought to have been buried in line with the Islamic dictates, but still lying in the morgue.

Igboho has been in exile since 2021 when the Department of State Security (DSS) raided his residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

He was, however, arrested in the neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic, while trying to travel to Germany.

Igboho got into the bad books of the government when he declared the Yoruba Nation’s sovereignty in March 2021.

He championed the cause of chasing the killer herdsmen and kidnappers away from the South-West states.

The major question on the lips of many now is, would Sunday Igboho be allowed to give his late mother a proper burial?
