IMMEDIATE past Head of Service in Oyo state, Mr Soji Eniade is set to join the 2019 gubernatorial race, Mega Icon Magazine reliably gathered.
Sources close to the former Head of Service told our reporter that Eniade will officially announce his intention to run as Oyo Governor soon.
Last week Thursday, Eniade forayed into politics by registering as a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
Speaking at the event which was held at Ward 12, Ibadan North East Local Government Area, Eniade informed that his decision to join politics was in heeding calls by residents across the state for him to utilise his intellect and experience for the continued development of the state.
The ex Head of Service, who spoke shortly after his registration at Methodist E9 School, Ibadan stressed that his venturing into politics was driven by concern for the welfare of the people and commitment to ensuring sustained development of the state. Eniade also assured that he would abide by party’s provisos.
Recently, the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at the 2018 inter-faith prayer session held at the governor’s car park, Agodi government secretariat, Ibadan had paid a glowing tribute to Eniade’s personality, appointing him immediately as his Executive Assistant (Administration) and assuring of political mentorship if Eniade ventured into politics. Ajimobi had applauded his high intellect, professional excellence, loyalty amongst others.
With this development, Eniade is to continue with series of consultations with various stakeholders in his ambition prior to declaring officially as being part of the 2019 gubernatorial race in Oyo state. Eniade who retired as Head of Service on February 7, 2018, after serving the mandatory 35 years in service, obtained degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU and University of Ibadan, UI
