EkitiDecides: President Buhari Congratulates Fayemi Over Governorship Election Victory

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi over a hard-fought victory at the just concluded governorship election.

The President on Sunday, also commended the APC and its supporters for winning the Ekiti governorship election.

Mr Femi Adesina, the spokesman to the President took to his social media page to convey the President’s felicitation to Mr. Fayemi.

Fayemi was declared the winner of the Ekiti Governorship election on Sunday by the Chief Returning Officer, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Professor Idowu Olayinka.

Professor Olayinka declared “that John Olukayode Fayemi of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.

Dr. Fayemi defeated the Deputy Governor of the state and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Professor Kolapo Olusola, and over 30 others in a keenly contested election.
