Ekiti: Omotayo canvasses support for YPP

A chieftain of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and 2018 gubernatorial Candidate of  the party in Ekiti state, Temitope Omotayo has called on youths across the country to join the party as part of moves to take over the politics of Nigeria.

Speaking during an interview in Ado-Ekiti, Omotayo noted that it was time for the youths in the nation to rise and stand for their rights politically.

“It is time for we youths to show interest in politics, so that we can reshape our future, if we don’t do it, no one will do it for us”, he said.

He noted that the younger generation should be ready to retire old politicians who had been at the helms of affairs of the country since 1999 when democracy started in Nigeria.

Speaking further,  the legal practitioner emphasized that the Young progressives party, YPP is a good platform which youths could use to realise the dream of changing the political atmosphere in the country, hence youths should join the party in their large numbers.

“The major ideology of forming YPP is to bring youths in the country together to form a common front and take over from the aged politicians”, the party chieftain added.

Omotayo also tasked the youths in their respective domains to always mobilise people to join the party, saying it is the best option for Nigerians as at present.

Speaking on the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti state, the Ado-Ekiti born young politician expressed optimism that YPP would become victorious in the poll and other elections.

Omotayo, however noted that the best way to make a positive change is to be part of the process, just as he enjoined Youths to be a part of the solution by not sitting on the fence in electoral and political matters.

“Get your PVC and let us cause the revolution through ballot”, he charged .
