Tension is brewing in Ekiti State ahead of the scheduled visit of an All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant, Engr. Kayode Ojo, following an allegation that the Chairman of Ikere Local Government Area, Hon. Olu Adamolekun, and the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor, identified as Mr. Victor (popularly called VC), threatened one of his supporters.
A resident of Ikere-Ekiti, Mrs. Adenle, alleged that the two party leaders warned her to stop mobilising support for Ojo’s 2026 governorship ambition.
According to impeccable sources who confided in Mega Icon Magazine, Adenle had been working to rally grassroots support for the aspirant when she was allegedly intimidated by the council chairman and the deputy governor’s aide.
She said, “They called me and warned that I should stop mobilising people for Engr. Ojo. I am only exercising my right to support whoever I believe in. Since then, I have been living in fear.”
Ojo, a frontline aspirant in the forthcoming APC governorship primary scheduled for October 27, 2025, is expected to arrive in Ekiti on Thursday for consultations with party faithful.
Findings by Mega Icon Magazine revealed that Adenle had already reported the alleged threats to the police but expressed fear for her safety, urging the authorities to protect her.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to reach Adamolekun and Victor for comments were unsuccessful.
