The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has congratulated Muslim faithful across the country on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Mawlud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Contained in a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele on Friday and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), described the festival as a reminder of the Prophet’s exemplary life of peace, sacrifice, justice, and compassion — virtues he said Nigeria urgently requires in its pursuit of national renewal.

He urged Muslims to emulate the Prophet’s teachings by embracing tolerance, promoting harmony, and strengthening brotherhood in their communities.

“Eid-el-Mawlud should remind us of the Prophet’s emphasis on justice and compassion for the weak. At this critical period when our country is facing economic rebirth, pockets of security challenges and social tension, Nigerians must recommit themselves to values that build trust, foster unity, and give hope to the vulnerable,” he said.

The federal lawmaker stressed that Nigeria’s diversity would remain its strength if citizens rose above religious and ethnic divisions to work together for progress. He noted that the Prophet’s life demonstrated how peace and dialogue could resolve conflicts, a lesson for both leaders and followers.

While acknowledging President Bola Tinubu’s efforts at steering the nation through economic reforms, the APC chieftain called for patience, resilience, and optimism. He urged leaders to embrace humility and people-centred policies in line with the Prophet’s teachings.

He also urged Muslims in Oyo State and across the federation to intensify prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity, adding that Nigeria’s journey to greatness requires both divine guidance and collective responsibility.

Oseni reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation, people-driven legislation, and empowerment programmes for his constituents, promising to continue working with like-minded leaders to ensure leadership remains true to the ideals of service exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
