Eid el Kabir: Ibadan based philanthropist, Olateju donates food items to Widows

IN a bid to alleviate the plight of widows and to have smooth celebration of Eid el Kabir, a philanthropist, Mrs Kemi Tunde- Olateju on Monday distributed food and household items to widows in Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo state.

The items, according to Mrs Tunde-Olateju was part of her corporate socio – responsibility to the society and widows in Ibadan metropolis.

She noted that the basic materials to widows became necessary so as to make the eid el Kabir celebration a fruitful one for them.

Speaking on the theme of the Programme entitled ‘Widows and Nigeria challenges”, she observed that widows in the country have been neglected by the society hence the need for people and government at all levels to intensify more efforts in reducing the challenges of widows.

Mrs Kemi Tunde- Olateju, who is the wife of an aspirant eyeing Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency seat, Mr Oluwaseun Tunde Olateju urged women in the state to always support each other for the advancement of the country.

“Widows empowerment scheme was burn out of the passion that my husband had for welfare of widows in the Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency”, Tunde Olateju added.

She also advised widows not to be discouraged by the challenges confronting them but summoned courage and move forward in life.

On the Eid el Kabir celebration, Mrs Kemi Tunde Olatejum enjoined Muslim faithful to remember the needy in their celebrations.

She then charged people irrespective of ethnic, religion or political affiliations to re unite for the development of Nigeria.
