In a move to celebrate the conclusion of Ramadan, the Federal Government has announced Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays for Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government in a statement released on Sunday.
In the statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako, Minister Tunji-Ojo congratulated all Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the fasting period in the holy month of Ramadan.
He emphasised the importance of embodying the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and compassion, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Also, Minister Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliations, to embrace unity as a means to foster peace and oneness in the country.
He expressed well wishes for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration and extended prayers for the peace, blessings, and favour of Allah upon all citizens and Nigeria as a whole.
