NO fewer than 150 people have been convicted between January to August 2018 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the acting Chairman of the commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu disclosed.
Mr Magu during an interactive session with Stakeholders and Members of the first Estate of the realm on Monday at the EFCC office in Ibadan said it is imperative for relevant stakeholders in the country to cooperate with the Commission in tackling the menace.

He explained that the media played pivotal role at ensuring corrupt free society for the advancement of the country, just as he maintained that the commission is committed to its constitutional duty without fear or bias while carrying out its operations.
The EFCC Boss, however used the occasion to inform the stakeholders that the commission will not and never witch hunt any citizen.
In his words, “the task of ensuring corrupt free society and better Nigeria can not be left in the hands of EFCC alone, hence the need for people to cooperate and support the Commission in its laudable efforts.
“The havoc that corrupt practices have wreaked on the Nigerian economy is no doubt, endless and I don’t intend to bore you with them.
“This is why fighting it to a standstill is not only a must, but the only life saver for our country, as to save the next generation”, he said

Some stakeholders who spoke at the programme Including, the Oyo state chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Comrade Waheed Olojede, State Director of NOA, Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu, State Chairman CAN, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu and Renowned Muslim Scholar, Prof Sabitu Olagoke commended the EFCC for organizing the sensitization programme
They said the EFCC under the watch of Ibrahim Magu has recorded tremendous success, urging him to intensify more efforts at ensuring corrupt free country
Other stakeholders in their remarks, also pledged their total support for the commission so as to kill corruption before killing the country.
