The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), said it has awarded a contract with N1.1Billion for the construction of a 250-seater Virtual Examination Centre (VEC) at Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH), Iseyin Campus.
According to the Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, this is as the organisation is preparing to commission the N1billion IT hub it constructed at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan before the end of May 2023.
The information containing the award of the contract for the construction of the 250-seater virtual examination centre was contained in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of LAUTECT by the NCC, signalling of the process of commencement of the construction.
The features of the Virtual Examination Centre to be constructed are:
Building Infrastructure to accommodate 250 Workstations (1Unit)
250 Computers and Furniture (250 PCs and 250 Computer Desk and Chairs)
Server Infrastructures (1Unit)
Printers and scanners (1Each)
Power peripherals
Air Conditioners (9 Unit ACs)
200KVA Generator (1Unit)
VSAT Equipment (1Unit)
Local Area Networks (LAN)
Vsat Equipment and one-year bandwidth subscription for internet access
Akande added that the construction is to be completed between six and nine months.
