Easter : Senator Buhari tasks Nigerians on sacrifice

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari representing Oyo North  Senatorial District on Friday urged Nigerians, irrespective of their religious beliefs and cultural affiliations to use the occasion of the Easter Celebrations to make more sacrifices that would take Nigeria to greater heights

He also urged politicians in position of authority to sacrifice their greed and lust for  unnecessary accumulation of wealth at the expense of the masses.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime gave this admonition in his Easter Message to christian faithful on this year commemoration of death and resurrection of  Jesus Christ.

” The lesson of this Easter period is sacrifice, Jesus sacrificed his life, he left everything and surrendered himself, the virtues which he has been  demonstrating right from his birth. We may not be like Christ but we should have a semblance of his good virtues for us to have a better society.

“It is painful that many religious leaders  who are suppose to be role models have backslide and deviating from the righteous part, thereby misleading people in power just because of their personal gain, this must not continue if truly we want God to bless our nation”, Buhari remarked.

The re-elected lawmaker reemphasized that continuous prayers, sacrifice and exhibiting of good virtues will not only help our life as individual but also have meaningful impact in the society.

To this end, Senator Buhari congratulates Christians, urging them to emulate Christ virtues by sacrificing their time to pray for leaders and progress of the country and be a living Christ for others to emulate.
