As Christians across the world celebrate the Easter season, the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan has called on Christians to, in the spirit of the season, persist to show forgiveness to one another and ensure unity in diversity.
The deputy governor also expressed appreciation to God for sparing and protecting the lives of people of the state, especially the Christian faithful to witness and celebrate the Easter season.
He enjoined the residents to continue to support the Seyi Makinde-led government in the state, urging them to remain steadfast, patient and hopeful.
He called on Christians in the state and beyond not to take lightly the price Christ paid for their salvation and to continue to remain connected to Jesus Christ who died for the living and sustenance of all.
Olaniyan noted that Jesus Christ had paid the price for all, thus becomes important and necessary that the Christians learn from His death and resurrection.
“In the spirit of the season, be your brother’s keeper. This is the period, also to get connected to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ by practice, who died so that we may be saved”, Olaniyan urged.
